After discovering Valenciennes my friends and I wanted to see more of
France and Europe. With the UPHF’s International Office we went on a free
trip to Brussels, saw the Parliament and discovered the city. With ESN we
went to the Mont Saint Michel, slept over in Rennes and looked at the
beautiful cliffs of Étretat on the way back to Valenciennes and all that for just
100€.
Then we also went on several trips by ourselves: Lille, Mons, Calais,
Paris and even London. For larger trips like in London we booked a dormitory
with bunked beds in a beautiful hostel. Hostels tend to be very cheap (+/- 25€
per night) and by taking the Flixbus we got to enjoy an amazing trip without
spending a fortune! Traveling is a big part of doing a semester abroad and I
would really advice you to see and do as many things as possible!
